The Association Legal Art Centre  was created with the idea to support , organize and realize projects in the area of contemporary arts and most of all of theater. As a non-commercial association it realizes its gainings through donation (sponsorship) by physical and juridical persons, membership payments and objectively granted allowances from governmental and non-governmental associations and/or agencies.

The Association Legal Art Centre was formally created in November 1999,  but its activity began ever since 1998.  Its founders are Desislava Shpatova and Snezhina Petrova. During all these years of existing independent theater projects were created, which purpose was to form a circle of adherents, to work over provocative themes and artistic ideas, to ensure free area for artistic searches.

Legal Art Centre is one of the first constantly working independent theater organizations in Bulgaria. It aims to ensure an area of action and support for the projects of young, independent authors. During the last few years 10 independent projects were created, directed by Desislava Shpatova. In all of them took part authors and actors from different areas of art- photographers, composers, designers, cinematographers and scenographers.

In the year 2001 Desislava Shpatova and Snezhina Petrova entered into relations through Arts Link Residency program in New York and Legal Art Centre was represented among different American cultural institutions and authors. Thanks to Ellen Steward - director of the LaMama theater in New York, there was performed the theatrical project "Zen Porn"  - a contemporary Bulgarian play by Milena Futshedjieva.

In the year 2002, with the support of the program for cultural exchange Arts Link, New York, was created the theatrical project "The Servant-girls" by Jack Jone, featuring the American expert of visual arts Katie Wise, awarded with "BESSIE".

In the year 2005 Snezhina Petrova took part in the Theater Treffen Forum in Berlin and presented Legal Art Centre.

Our team stays open to different initiatives and opportunities for cooperation with other European companies and institutions in the area of performing art.
